There's a she-wolf in your closet Open up and set her free It was a quiet day, perfect for napping; it wasn't freezing, but instea pleasantly warm in a way it hadn't been for ages. Could anyone blame Wolf for wanting to enjoy this day in peace? She felt like the world deserved at least one chaos-free day per couple of months, and this was the perfect way to cash in on it. And what better way to spend her day than by lazing around in some superbly comfortable trees? The first tree she had tried hadn't tickled her fancy, and the second one had made her sneez, but the third one....the third one was just right. It was hard to spot the wolf-girl amidst all the leaves and foilage, but if you happened to look up at the branches of the sturdy tree with bright leaves, then you'd be able to see Wolf, lying out on a limb, eyes closed and content in the knowledge that she'd never fall off. The only thing that wasn't hidden by a smattering of leaves was her tail, which was drooped over the side of the branch. It looked rather strange, but that was only because it looked like a lone tail at first, instead of one that belonged to someone.
Heaving a happy sigh, Wolf turned over on to her side, ignoring the quivering branch's protests. It would hold. She knew that much, from years of experience of sleeping on trees. Wolfie didn't even have to worry about falling. She never fell unless pushed, and then she landed on her feet. But why would someone want to push a poor young girl anyways? Why, anyone who did that had to be a monster of the cruellest capacity, a positive fiend! Wolf opened her eyes and morphed her expression in to a sad one at the idea. Not many people pushed her, and those that did generally didn't last too long. There was a reason she called herself a demon, after all. Wolf did have her pride.
With a sigh, she turned on to her back and closed her eyes again, before opening them almost immediately. Bloody eyes stared up at the bright blue sky that managed to peak through the leaves. Well, this was hardly any fun. Yes, yes, she knew she had said that everyone deserved a break now and then, and they did, but it was hard to relax when you hadn't even done anything mildly entertaining as of late. It had been ages since she'd done something really fun, something that had gotten her blood up. She hadn't even had a good toy in forever! In fact, she couldn't even remember the last really good playmate she had had. Frowning slightly, she raised her hand to tap her chin, while the other one dangled over the edge with her tail. Now, had it been a boy or a girl? A vague face flitted before her eyes, before dissapearing. Wolf's momentary interest quickly abated. Whatever their name had been, they couldn't have been very amusing if she couldn't even remember their faces.
Well, perhaps it would be better to rest now and worry about finding fun playmates later. Closing her eyes again, this time with a smile on her face, she swished her tail absent-mindedly as she thought of the amount of rest she could get today. No one aroud to bother her, quiet all around.....she wouldn't have to rest for months after this! And afterwards, she could head towards the nearest town or city to find a new toy! She had heard some vague whisperings of an upcoming ball somewhere. Doubtless there would be news about it that she could scrape up somewhere. But for now, Wolfie was just happy to lie on her tree branch- at least, until something more interesting came along. It seems that the lethargic aura that normally radiated around the young man had melted into the air and fused itself with the atmosphere. Today was the perfect day to just relax and do nothing at all and that was exactly what Aubrey planned to do. He sent the nuisance of his sister off with one of her other friends to do god knows what with her day. Aubrey wanted nothing more than to stretch out under a shady tree and just chill for a little while. Perhaps he would play a soft melody to accompany the peaceful silence that floated in the air. The only noise that dared break it was the rustling of the leaves as the wind whispered secrets to the trees.
He found himself strolling through the nearby forest at a lazy stride, his acoustic guitar resting against his back, the neck stretching up over his shoulder. Crimson orbs were half-eclipsed by pale lids, a dazed glint in the man’s eyes. Honestly, he had no idea where he was going; however, he knew what he was looking for: the perfect tree. Aubrey sought for a towering tree with a plethora of leaves to offer him shade. The sun was quite cruel to his naturally pale complexion, after all; and he’d rather not worry about developing a burn when he was supposed to be calmed by the perfect day.
A soft sigh parted his lips as he paused. Head tilting to the side, he was debating on settling on one of the trees that were in the immediate area. Aubrey really didn’t want to spend a majority of his time simply searching for the tree itself. He was already tired of walking around. His eyes fell upon a rather tall tree. Though, it wasn’t what he had first imagined, it seemed as if it would due. He could always try searching for another should he find this one to be flawed.
With a very faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips, he started to head toward the tree. Aubrey pulled the guitar from his back and lowered himself to the ground, nestling himself between two roots that snaked out of the ground. Resting back against the rough trunk, he cradled the guitar in his lap, eyes gazing at the strings. His fingers gingerly ran across the cords as if a simple touch would cause them to snap and his smile grew more pronounced. Gently, he started to pluck at the strings unleashing a soothing melody into the silence. His eyes closed in quiet content, white head tipping back to rest against the trunk. A lazy curve painted a smile on his lips.
Everything seemed perfect. Despite the lack of sight, Aubrey’s fingers found no trouble in playing the right notes to his simple song. However, the peace wouldn’t last for long. An unsettling feeling started to worm its way into his stomach, twisting into anxious knots. His song started to falter before dying in the silence completely. Raising his head, Aubrey scanned the area. He couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was there. That someone could be watching him.
Now, Aubrey knew that he was quite the paranoid individual. He knew he had a tendency to worry over nothing and grow anxious in the silence. But, no matter how hard he tried, he could not shake the feeling that someone was there. Lips pressed in a thin line, Aubrey turned his gaze to the tree branches that soared above his head. He studied the leaves and the branches searching for something – anything – that shouldn’t be there.

There's a she-wolf in your closet Open up and set her free It was so quiet, so peaceful, Wolf had been in serious danger of actually allowing herself to drift off. It wouldn't have been that bad of a thing; she had been on the prowl for days, and a little rest and relaxation was never amiss. Her eyes had just been fluttering shut, her omnipresent smile that was always painted on her face growing softer, when she heard the noise. It was soft, barely audible, but she was part wolf, after all. Well, maybe not, but she had something wolfy going on with her, that was definite. The ears perched on top of her head twitched, and the eyelids shot up. What was fate throwing her way today? Something fun, she hoped. Nothing too boring would be appreciated greatly.
Rolling over on to her front, scarlet eyes surveying everything they could through the dense foliage, Wolf peered down at her surroundings. The footsteps were coming nearer, getting closer, and they sounded like they belonged to a human. Nothing to do but wait until they ventured in to her area. If the owner of the footsteps chose to go the opposite way, well, then she'd have no choice but to follow. Her hand would be forced, really, and there would be no way to tell how that would end. She didn't like it when her toys ran away from her before she even got a chance to see them. Well, actually, she didn't mind, but Wolf was in a rather whimsical mood at the moment, the result of shaking off sleep at the last moment. When in such a frame of mind, there was no telling what she would do.
A wolf ear twitched again; the footsteps were getting closer. Wolf almost clapped for joy. Her toy was coming to her after all! Oh, that made Wolf happy, it really did. She did so like willing playmates, though the unwilling ones had their qualities too. Right now, the demon-girl just wanted something she could pass the time with, and she didn't care what she would have to kill to get to someone like that. Hopefully there would be no gore involved, though. She had just washed these clothes, after all, and blood stains were just oh-so-difficult to get out. Long reddish-brown hair trickled over her shoulders as she leaned precariously over her branch to get an even better look at the forest floor. She wanted to see the plaything that had come so willingly to her!
What she saw made her smile grow in to a wide grin. Well, well, well. Wasn't the boy down there a looker. She hadn't seen someone that good-looking in ages. White hair, pale skin.......and red eyes, just like her. Undoubtedly, she was meant to play with him. He had probably been born for that exact purpose. Wolf rested her elbows on the branch and her face on her elbows as she gazed down at what had just officially become her new prey, almost purring in delight when he decided to settle underneath her impressive tree with its vast array of multicolored leaves. It was at moments like these when she wondered if those ears weren't cat ears after all. Whatever kind of ears they were, they certainly approved of the pleasing sound the boy's guitar made. She'd be nice this once, and let him finish the song, before she made her presence known.
However, the music was not to last for long. It wasn't long before his song faltered, before fading, leaving only a few sad lingering echoes. Wolf expressed her sentiments of this in a silent pout- she did so like good music- before she noticed the boy's eratic actions. He looked here, he looked there, before finally directing his gaze at the tree, almost as if he were expecting something to come jumping out at him. Well, Wolf would most certainly be glad to oblige him on that aspect. Surprising people was so much fun! She let out a tiny giggle, which seemed to echo in the silence, before scampering to a lower branch, always making sure to stay in the area with the thickest leaves. They would hide her presence until she wanted it known. Finally, the girl came to one of the lowest branches, one that happened to hang right above where the boy was. With another barely audible giggle, she wound her legs around the branch, before allowing herself to swing downwards. Immediately, her world was upside-down, as was the face of the boy that she was hanging in front of. "Hello," she smiled as a way of greeting. Aubrey knew there was absolutely no reason to be feeling so anxious. The air was still save the simple breezes that lightly ruffled his hair. Silence hung heavy all around him. Not a single bird tweeted nor did any cricket chirp. The only noise that broke the silence was that of the breeze slipping through the leaves in trees. As far as he could tell, there was no danger lurking near him. Though, perhaps it was that very silence that made him so anxious. Perhaps it twisted his mind into believing that he should be hearing more than what he actually did.
Once again, his eyes scanned the area. He saw nothing and heard nothing therefore he should not have been so worried and anxious. His fingers drummed against the side of his guitar, crimson eyes watching the movements in an attempt to distract himself. He started to chew idly at his bottom lip before attempting to strum a new melody once again but that was soon interrupted by a slight noise.
Rustling leaves.
His head immediately cocked his head toward the noise as he strained to hear whatever it was again. After a moment or two, he exhaled the breath he didn’t even know he had been holding. With a soft growl and a frown claiming his mouth in a negative curve, his eyes once again focused his attention on the guitar. Silently, he rationalized everything in his mind. The silence was due to his presence. Animals were naturally weary in front of people. Unless, of course, they were shape shifters, he assumed. However, he was not one. So his simple presence could have scared away any birds that could have sang with him. As for the rustling leaves? That one was simple: the breeze. It was the only thing that wanted to shatter any suffocating silence.
But, of course, not even that was enough to calm his paranoid mind. Inhaling deeply, Aubrey closed his eyes before exhaling slowly. He was trying to settle the ugly feeling that was gnawing at his insides.
A dreaded idea crept its way into his mind. What if it was Adora? She could be quite the little stalker sometimes. Even though she was loud and obnoxious, she had patience when she wanted it and has proved herself to be a ninja of the sorts. Could it be his little sister?
That possibility was soon shattered and his questions were answered. Another small rustled called his attention toward the tree but even he could not have guessed what happened next. Nothing could have prepared him for the flash that he caught in the corner of his eye.
Almost instantly, he was sent into the air, tumbling over one of the roots that had cradled him against the tree. A shocked gasp parted his lips, eyes widening in surprise and fright. The force of his jump sent his guitar flying to one side. He landed on his back on the other side of the root, legs dangling over into the hollow circle he had previously been sat in.
His heart raced, eyes staring up into the leaves as he tried to calm himself down. Where the hell had she come from? Slowly, he sat up, supporting himself on his elbows. His eyes narrowed for a moment, a defensive pout finding itself on his lips. Eventually, his features relaxed. He gazed at her in wonder, pout morphing into a neutral line save the smirk barely twitching in one corner. Her eyes were just as red as his, hair nearly matching it in intensity.
He had to admit. She was cute.
“My, my. Maybe I should start believing in angels. It seems one has just fallen before me. Tell me, dear, to whom do I owe the pleasure?” The paranoia that had once consumed him subsided, as his suspicions were answer. She had been watching him, after all. Now that the worry was off his mind, he was, once again, his normal flirtatious self.

There's a she-wolf in your closet Open up and set her free Oh, she did so love surprising people. Wolf adored the expression of shock on their faces, the way they would start, the way their heart would briefly jump ahead of its rhythm. There really was nothing quite like it. Well, there was, but startling people was fun to. And this one had reacted deliciously. She couldn't help but smile joyfully and clap her hands in childish glee. It was his fault for reacting the way he had. The precious boy had even added a little bit of fear in there for her. How kind of him! Wolf would have to remember to thank him later, she really would. She knew plenty of ways to reward people who made her happy. Admittedly, they almost never got their prize, but since it was Wolf handing it out, perhaps that was a good thing. Gifts often had a nasty way of backfiring, often for the worst, around her.
The boy calmed down fairly quickly though, quick enough to morph his previous expression of shock in to something else. She would miss that expression, but this one was nice too. He appeared nice overall. He looked like he would make a perfect toy; their eyes were the same hue, after all. If that wasn't destiny, Wolf didn't know what was. She wanted to play with something that could keep up; he looked like he could fit the bill for a while. Already, she was becoming attached to the dear boy. That just wouldn't do. She would have to test him first, to make sure he lived up to her expectations, if he was still living by the end of this. She hoped he would be.
At least he was quick with his words. She listened in approal to his sentence. Very smooth for one who had so recently been surprised by none other than yours truly. Wolf's deceivingly innocent eyes widened, as did her smile. So he thought she was an angel, eh? What a nice man! In truth, she couldn't be further from that. Besides, who had ever heard of an angel with wolf ears and a tail? Wolf never had, though she supposed it was possible. It was a big world, after all, and who was she to judge it? Right now, though, she was deploring it for not allowing her to meet this gentleman sooner. Shame on the world. Shame.
Deciding it was time she properly greet her new plaything before all of her blood rushed to her head, Wolf disentangled her legs from the branch and allowed herself to drop, twisting over in the air to allow herself to land in an undignified sprawl, her skirts tangling with her legs, leaving a single bare foot to poke out of one side. Though it looked messy, it was calculated. Carefully planned disarray. Wolf always took care to wear shorts underneat her skirts anyways, so even if it got all torn up and whatnot, she'd still be good. But now, she should pay attention to the man. He deserved some. Giggling, she looked at him sideways. "Perhaps I should start believing in devils," she replied back, turning his own words back on him with an irony. "That would be the only explanation as to why someone as sinfully handsome as you are would be here," Oh, she was shameless, allowing her regular personality to leak in to that of the innocent girl's role that she was playing right now. Still, smiling, she stretched her hand up to rub at her wolf's ear.
He wanted a name? Well, if he wanted it badly enough, he'd work for it. In a flash, she had scampered up right in front of him, a bit too close for comfort, demonstrating her usual knack for disrespecting personal space. He didn't seem like the type to mind, however. Reaching up, she placed both her hands on the side of his face, before starin earnestly at his eyes, red meeting red. "Can I please have your name first?" she asked, her voice clear. "It would only be polite," There's a she-wolf in your closet Let it out so it can breathe Words: 679 Notes: Suckish? NEVAH D:< Not as suckish as mine ;w; And it appears we are back to the name game! History has a way of repeating itself, meh?
